“If HealthTech innovators and entrepreneurs truly want to contribute to reaching SDG 3, they need to be concerned about ensuring that their technologies can find a place in the broader environment. Health Technology is not only about devices and diseases but also about people and institutions,” says Tania Douglas, Professor of biomedical engineering at the University of Capetown.
In her speech, she addresses the global health issues and how they can be tackled with the technology in a smart way. Tania emphasizes that technology can have both positive and negative outcomes. Besides the brilliant idea, it requires a lot of training, preparation and work to make sure that the solution is implemented to serve its purpose as part of an ecosystem.
