In Uganda, 80–85% of students in medical colleges are girls yet only 30% are registered with Ugandan Medical Council which results to a low female labour participation (30%) when compared with similar countries with the same Gross National Income per capita. Waiba Health Services is a health-tech social enterprise that deploys at home female healthcare providers to deliver remote online healthcare services for low-income communities through a combination of a mobile App and e-clinics that enable patients to store medical data as well as interact/consult with medical specialists 24/7 with/without an internet connection. So far, we have established 5 e-health clinics, had over 2000 e-health consultations, impacted about 100,000 lives and successfully held 10 health education projects in the last 2 years.
