Today's era is defined by emerging innovative technologies. We are living in a time where digital is merging with the physical, and robots are capable of performing surgery on human brains. These times require completely different approaches to education which used to be applied (and in many countries are still being applied to this day).
While some countries are already testing virtual reality and AI technology in the classroom, about 258 million children and youth still do not have access to proper education (according to UIS). So, how do we prepare today's children for the challenges of the global market and bridge the gap in educational opportunities? How can we increase the quality of education in developing countries that are experiencing significant social and economic transformations?
At Seedstars, we believe that these education challenges and many others can be solved only through close collaboration with the private sector, government and grass-roots initiatives. That’s why we have been partnering with TRECC and the School of Management Fribourg (HEG Fribourg) for the last few years in order to find and support the best ventures in Edtech globally. By sourcing and supporting the most promising ventures in the sector, we help them grow their businesses, provide thousands of children with education opportunities and, ultimately, boost the country’s economy.
We are proud to have ventures such as Asafeer Education Technologies (Qatar), Edves (Nigeria), Schoolap (the Democratic Republic of the Congo), Programa Valentina (Guatemala) are among the winners of The Transforming Education Prize 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
